Gabriel G. Plata

Gabriel G. Plata is an experienced communications professional currently serving as the Communications Manager at The Aspen Institute since May 2023. Previously, Gabriel worked as the Digital Communications Manager at Luminate and as the Senior Communications Manager at Evidence Action, where oversight of the Communications department included developing strategies benefiting over 280 million people in eight countries. Notable achievements at the Inter-American Development Bank included co-founding and editing the storytelling platform, Improving Lives, which received multiple awards, as well as building the IDB's Instagram presence from 2,000 to over 168,000 followers. Gabriel co-founded Fundacion Copili, led data journalism initiatives at Milenio, and conducted research in health economics at the National Institute of Public Health. Gabriel holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and a Diploma in Near and Middle Eastern Studies.
