Nicholas Thompson

Nicholas Thompson is the current CEO of The Atlantic. Prior to this, they were a Contributor at CBS News from January 2015 to January 2021. Nicholas was also a Contributing Editor at CNN from September 2010 to June 2016, and an Editor at The New Yorker from March 2010 to January 2017. Nicholas has also been a Contributing Editor at Bloomberg News from January 2010 to May 2014. Nicholas is a Co-Founder of The Atavist and was the Editor In Chief of WIRED from January 2017 to January 2021. Prior to that, they were a Senior Editor at Wired Magazine from January 2005 to May 2010, and a Fellow at the New America Foundation from January 2002 to September 2005.

Nicholas Thompson received their BA in Earth Systems, Political Science, and Economics from Stanford University. Nicholas also attended Phillips Academy, Andover and The Park School.
