Bill Jones has extensive work experience in the finance and accounting field. Bill started their career as a Senior Auditor at Deloitte & Touche in 1987 and worked there until 1990. Bill then moved on to The Times Mirror Company, where they served as a Supervising Senior Auditor until 1994. During their time at The Times Mirror Company, they conducted financial and operational audits for various media companies, including The Baltimore Sun and Newsday. In 1994, Bill joined the U.S. Department of Commerce as an International Trade Accountant, where they stayed until 1999. Bill then transitioned to the newspaper industry, starting at The Tribune Company and then moving to Tribune Publishing/Baltimore Sun as an Advertising Finance Director. Bill held this role from 1999 until 2008, when they became an Advertising Business Manager at The Baltimore Sun. Overall, Bill Jones has over 30 years of experience in finance, accounting, auditing, and business management in both the public and private sectors.

Bill Jones received their B.S. in Accounting from Lehigh University from 1983 to 1987. Bill then pursued further education and obtained an MBA with a concentration in Marketing from Loyola University Maryland from 1997 to 2000.
