Susan Reimer has had a distinguished career in journalism, beginning as a reporter for the Associated Press and later serving as a copy editor for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Since February 1979, Reimer has worked at The Baltimore Sun, where contributions include writing op-ed columns focused on politics and personal essays, as well as lifestyle stories in food, travel, and home sections. As one of the first full-time female sportswriters in the country, Reimer covered major sporting events and transitioned to feature writing that reflects experiences as a wife and mother. Reimer authored a collection of essays titled "Motherhood is a Contact Sport" in 1998 and maintained a popular garden blog for The Sun. Reimer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Ohio University.
