Landon McDowell has a diverse and extensive work experience in the technology industry. Landon is currently working at The Believer Company as the Chief Technology Officer, leading a team in creating better games. Prior to this, they worked at The Initiative as the Senior Director Of Engineering from 2021 to 2022.
Landon also has experience working at Riot Games as the Head of Technical Operations - Wild Rift from 2020 to 2021. At Riot Games, they managed technical operations for the game Wild Rift.
Before joining Riot Games, Landon worked at Linden Lab for many years. Landon held various roles, including Chief Product Officer, VP Operations and Platform Engineering, Senior Director Platform Engineering and Operations, Director of Systems Engineering and Operations, Systems Engineering Manager, and Lead Systems Engineer. In this role, they led a team of engineers in creating carrier class Internet and data services. Landon also worked as a Unix Systems Administrator at NTELOS, where they automated operational processes and helped design and build high-speed internet services.
Before their time at NTELOS, Landon was the President of Planetmax, Inc., a network and systems consultancy. In this role, they provided support for network engineering, web presence, and systems integration for organizations, particularly non-profits and ISPs.
