As a 4th grade teacher at the Harley School in Rochester, and then a 5th grade teacher at Ethical Culture Fieldston, Matt found himself excited about helping his students explore the concepts of community action and social justice. Fieldston created a service learning coordinator position for him, but he was drawn to Berkeley Carroll’s new cross-divisional role, in which he’ll have the opportunity to work with students, faculty and the broader community to strengthen the school’s relationships with area organizations and its approach to service learning.
