Dennis Flynn

Dennis Flynn is an experienced law enforcement professional currently serving as the Chief of Police for the City of Battle Ground since April 2024, overseeing a police department of 35 employees. Flynn has also been an instructor and coach for The Black Swan Group, focusing on communication and negotiation skills, and has taught crisis and hostage negotiation techniques through Crisis System Management since February 2017. Previous roles include Deputy Chief of Operations at the Commerce City Police Department and Vice President of Critical Leadership Solutions, where Flynn specialized in training public and private entities in critical decision-making and crisis management. With a lengthy career at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Flynn held various leadership positions, including Lieutenant in several divisions and Team Leader of the Hostage/Crisis Negotiation Team. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership from the University of San Diego and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Oklahoma. Additionally, education continues at Northwestern University.
