Denetra Stewart

Denetra Stewart is a highly experienced professional in the field of counseling and substance abuse support, currently serving as a Substance Abuse Counselor at the Department of Juvenile Justice since June 2019, implementing the 7 challenges model in group settings. Concurrently, Denetra has been a Therapeutic Care Provider 2 at The Bradley Center since September 2017, responsible for conducting clinical assessments and coordinating various service needs for patients. Previously, Denetra held positions as a Social Service Provider II and Designated Mental Health Authority at the Department of Juvenile Justice from June 2011 to October 2017, where responsibilities included mental health screenings and treatment planning for detained youth. Denetra began the career as a Behavioral Health Specialist at East Mississippi State Hospital from December 2008 to May 2011. Denetra holds a Master's of Science in Counseling/Psychology from The University of West Alabama and a Bachelor's of Science in Family Study from Mississippi University for Women.
