Vince Warren serves as the Executive Director of the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) since 2006, where responsibilities include being the chief strategist and spokesperson for a national human rights organization focused on landmark litigation, such as the Stop and Frisk case against the NYC Police Department and representation of Guantánamo detainees. Warren has been pivotal in challenging post-9/11 expansions of presidential power, including habeas corpus violations, extraordinary rendition, and illegal surveillance. Additional accomplishments include launching the Bertha Social Justice Institute to train future lawyers, serving as the W. Haywood Burns Chair in Civil and Human Rights at the City University of New York School of Law, and previously holding positions at the American Civil Liberties Union and the Legal Aid Society. Warren holds a JD from Rutgers Law School and a BA in Political Science from Haverford College.
