Michelle Burris is a seasoned policy researcher and cohort leader at The Century Foundation since September 2019. Previously, Michelle served as a teacher at Harry S Truman High School, mentoring West African immigrant students and facilitating their cultural and academic growth. Additional experience includes working as a research associate at Teachers College, Columbia University, where Michelle organized voter registration drives and conducted research on higher education policy. Michelle's background also includes legal assistance at the Corporation for National and Community Service and serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Rwanda, where Michelle taught English and computer courses. Michelle holds a Master of Arts in Politics and Education from Teachers College and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Spelman College.
