Kristine Wellman

Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at Chemours

Backed by more than 20 years of legal experience, Kristine heads The Chemours Company’s global legal, compliance, security, and government affairs teams. She first joined Chemours in 2014 as part of the legal leadership team and was integral to the successful stand-up of Chemours as an independent, public company. Kristine also developed the corporate governance framework that Chemours still uses today.

Having worked in several leadership roles across the company, Kristine has a deep and unique understanding of Chemours, its business operations, and legal function. Prior to her current role, she served as Vice President, Strategic Planning for Chemours. Kristine also previously held roles within the Advanced Performance Materials business in sustainability and operations, including as the Plant Manager at Chemours’ Chambers Works manufacturing facility where she led the operations team safely through the initial phase of the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to her operations experience, Kristine was a member of the company’s legal department as Associate General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary.

Before joining Chemours, Kristine held various legal leadership roles within Fortune 500 and global financial services companies and was in private practice with a global law firm, where she focused on corporate law.

She received her bachelor’s degree, with a double major in Economics and Asian Studies, from the University of Michigan and her law degree from Case Western Reserve University.

Kristine serves on the Board of Directors for both the Delaware Theatre Company and the Ancient Art Archive.
