Yi Xing is a prominent leader in biomedical and health informatics, currently serving as the Executive Director of the Department of Biomedical and Health Informatics and holding the Francis West Lewis Chair in Computational and Genomic Medicine at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia since September 2018. As a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Yi Xing contributes to academia while also having cofounded Panorama Medicine. Previous positions include serving as an Adjunct Professor and affiliated faculty member at UCLA, during which Yi Xing held multiple roles in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics, and directed the Bioinformatics Interdepartmental Ph.D. Program. Earlier career experiences include Associate and Assistant Professorships at the University of Iowa, a Senior Visiting Fellowship at UCLA IPAM, and a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University. Yi Xing holds a PhD in Molecular Biology (Bioinformatics) from UCLA and dual degrees in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Computer Science and Technology from the University of Science and Technology of China.
