Katherine Mesa is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in leadership, research, and civic engagement. Currently serving as a Leadership Team Member and Facilitator for the Youth Advisory Committee at The Children's Trust of Miami-Dade County, Katherine oversees communication and administrative duties across six branches, leads advocacy efforts for youth, and manages educational projects. Previously, as a Research and Outreach Fellow for the Luisa Santos Re-Election Campaign, Katherine conducted vital research and coordinated fundraising efforts. Experience as a Governmental Relations Fellow at FIU in Washington, D.C. included supporting engagement with EDA's ClimateTech Hub and preparing congressional appropriations requests. Additionally, Katherine served as a fellow and Engagement Co-Chair at the FIU Maurice A. Ferré Institute for Civic Leadership, organizing outreach events on social justice and civic issues. Katherine holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a Minor in International Relations from The Honors College at Florida International University.
