Andy Thomason

Andy Thomason is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in editorial leadership, particularly at The Chronicle of Higher Education, where roles include Assistant Managing Editor, Senior Editor, Breaking News Editor, and Web News Writer since May 2014. In the position of Assistant Managing Editor, Andy leads a newsroom of 40 journalists and oversees award-winning coverage that garners 1.5 million page views monthly. Previous experience includes serving as Editor-in-Chief at The Daily Tar Heel, where Andy managed a 250-person staff, and an internship at the Tampa Bay Times. Andy holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, obtained in May 2013.
