Rommel Sandino is an experienced organizer and leader in community engagement and advocacy, currently serving as the National Organizing Director for the League of Women Voters. In this role since April 2022, Rommel oversees a team that mobilizes grassroots efforts across 700+ Leagues to advance voting rights, women’s rights, and racial and gender justice. Additionally, Rommel holds a position as a Councilmember for Ward 5 in the City of Hyattsville, focusing on creating equitable systemic changes for marginalized communities. Previous roles include Senior Organizer and Northeast Regional Field Organizer with Community Change, where Rommel developed immigration strategies and grassroots campaigns aimed at empowering Black, Brown, and immigrant populations, and Lead Organizer at CASA, where responsibilities included training, coalition building, and direct lobbying efforts. Rommel's educational background includes studies at the University of Maryland and Montgomery College.
