Hillary Kerr began their career in 2003 as an Associate Features Editor at ELLE Magazine. Hillary wrote primarily for the Living section, but also covered beauty, health, fitness, music, and art. In 2005, they began freelancing as a journalist, writing for ELLE, Maxim, Teen Vogue, and Nylon. Hillary created two mini-magazines about the second season of Project Runway for ELLE and also wrote celebrity interviews for Maxim, including two cover stories. In 2006, they co-founded Clique Brands, an international fashion company known for its content sites whowhatwear.com and whowhatwear.co, which was named to Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies list in 2017 and Digiday's most innovative publisher in 2018.
Hillary Kerr received their Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Southern California between 1997 and 2000. Hillary then went on to receive their Master's in Journalism (Magazine) from New York University between 2001 and 2002.
