Shankar Kanugo Subramanian

Shankar Kanugo Subramanian has a strong background in full stack engineering and technical leadership. Shankar is currently working as a Lead Full Stack Engineer at The College Board. Prior to this, they held positions at Fannie Mae, TIAA, MetLife, and Cognizant.

At Fannie Mae, Shankar worked as a Lead Full Stack Engineer via Cognizant. Shankar designed and developed scalable Microservices applications, deployed Spring Boot applications on ECS Fargate clusters, and enhanced UI applications using Angular 4 and Java.

During their time at TIAA, Shankar served as a Technical Lead and Senior Full Stack Engineer via Cognizant. Shankar developed applications using Spring 4 MVC and Freemarker Tag Library, implemented S3 bucket/JSON-based UI apps, and evaluated in-memory cache technologies like REDIS and Memcached.

At MetLife, Shankar worked as a Team Lead and Senior Full Stack Developer via Cognizant. Shankar led a team and enhanced the Life Insurance and Statement Of Health website, developed a content management framework using Apache Velocity templates, and enabled dynamic modifications to the website.

Shankar started their career as a Java Developer at Cognizant, where they performed enhancements and maintenance on a Struts-based UI application and was involved in testing and deployment on Websphere Application Server.

Overall, Shankar has demonstrated expertise in full stack development, technical leadership, and the ability to work on large-scale projects in the financial and insurance sectors.

Shankar Kanugo Subramanian completed their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communication from Anna University in 2005. Shankar then pursued a Masters in Science degree in Software Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani from 2007 to 2008. In addition to their formal education, Shankar has obtained various certifications including AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in September 2021, Certified Scrum Master from Scrum Alliance in August 2016, IBM Rational Tools Developer from Island Training Solutions in 2012, LOMA 290 Life Insurance from LOMA in 2008, LOMA 280 Life Insurance from LOMA in 2007, and Sun Certified Java Programmer from Sun Microsystems in 2006.
