Michael Elzahr

Michael Elzahr is a portfolio manager at The Colony Group. Michael has over ten years of experience in the financial industry, including stints as an investment analyst and equity research associate.

Elzahr began their career in 2010 as an equity research associate at Dahlman Rose & Co., where they focused on metals and mining. Michael quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a registered equity research analyst and leading the initiation of coverage of three companies. In 2015, they left Dahlman Rose to join Steinberg Global Asset Management, Ltd. as an investment analyst.

At Steinberg, Elzahr was responsible for researching and monitoring aluminum, copper, steel, and diversified mining companies and industries. Michael also produced morning notes, weekly reports, and market update reports. In 2019, they left Steinberg to join The Colony Group as a portfolio manager.

Elzahr has a strong track record of making accurate calls on near-term commodity and industry trends. Michael regularly interacts with company management and industry contacts to supplement their research and frequently communicates investment ideas to clients.

Michael Elzahr has a MBA in finance and strategy from the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business. Michael also has a B.S. in chemical engineering from Cornell University. Michael is certified from the CFA Institute in CFA.
