After seven years at The New York Times, Tamara took on a new challenge as Facebook's first-ever Head of Editorial Operations. In this role, they were responsible for creating and executing editorial content strategy across all of Facebook's platforms.

After two years at Facebook, Tamara began their current role as Assistant Managing Editor at The Daily Beast. In this role, they facilitate daily editorial planning and special event coverage across eight sections with the masthead. Tamara also manages staffing schedules, team building and training sessions for editorial staff. Additionally, they direct the newsroom internship program to recruit, train and mentor collegiate talent. Tamara has also partnered with business development to create products aimed at furthering revenue. Lastly, they manage assignments, editing and payment for freelance contributors.

Tamara Best has a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from The University of Georgia.
