Emelia Ribero

Emelia Ribero is a dedicated journalism student at the University of South Carolina, pursuing a degree in Journalism and Political Science. Currently serving as News Editor at The Daily Gamecock since July 2023, Emelia manages and edits all content in the news section, providing training for writers and leading section meetings. Previously, Emelia worked as a University Politics Beat Writer at The Daily Gamecock from August 2021 to December 2022, gaining valuable experience in a student-run newsroom. Additionally, Emelia interned at Boxoffice Pro Magazine in summer 2022, focusing on research and editing, and held part-time roles as a receptionist at Lutfi's Salon and Day Spa and as a summer camp counselor at the Parks and Recreation Foundation of Howard County, which contributed to the development of organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Education was completed at River Hill High School in May 2021.
