Kristen Axtman

Kristen Axtman is an accomplished journalist and undergraduate researcher currently serving as a Senior Staffer and Assistant Campus Editor at The Daily Northwestern, where responsibilities include writing and editing campus stories. As a Reporter, Kristen developed content for the education and business beats on the city desk. In addition to this role, Kristen works as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Northwestern University, conducting research for the ISTEAM Collaborative, which develops learning tools for Indigenous communities. Previous experience includes a News and Investigations Internship at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, where Kristen wrote multiple articles weekly, and positions as a Host at Industry Public House and a Barista at Starbucks. Kristen is pursuing a degree at Northwestern University, having graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School in 2021.
