Abigail Kesner

Abigail Kesner has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Abigail is currently serving as the Vice President of Communications at The Denver Foundation, a position they began in 2022.

Prior to their current role, they worked at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment from 2016 to 2021, where they held the position of Communications Director in the Prevention Services Division. During their tenure, they played an instrumental role in the state's COVID-19 response, supporting content creation, media relations, and behavior-change efforts. Abigail also supervised a team of seven communications staff and led a $7 million marketing campaign.

Before that, Abigail worked as the Director of Public Affairs/Marketing at Rose Medical Center in 2015 and as a Principal and Senior Associate at SE2 from 2010 to 2015. At Rose Medical Center, they led external communications and marketing efforts, while at SE2, they acted as a project lead and provided consultation and support to clients. Their work at SE2 involved creating messaging, strategic communication plans, and advertising to impact public issues.

Abigail also gained valuable experience working in the political field. Abigail served as the Communications Director for the Senate Majority at the Colorado Senate from 2008 to 2010, where they managed and promoted communications plans. Their early career includes roles at CNN, where they worked as an Anchor Producer, Producer, and Associate Producer on various shows.

Additionally, Abigail worked as a Freelance Speech Writer, specifically writing speeches for Paula Zahn, and as a Production Assistant at CNN- Paula Zahn Now and CNN.

Overall, Abigail Kesner has a strong background in communications, marketing, public affairs, and media relations, with experience in both the healthcare and political sectors.

Abigail Kesner pursued their undergraduate education from 1998 to 2002 at Middlebury College, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies with a focus on French literature and culture. As part of their academic journey, they also attended the Middlebury College School in France for the academic year of 2000 to 2001, further enhancing their knowledge in the subjects of French and Film.
