Andy Elliott DeRoin (they/them) CDE® has a diverse work experience with a focus on project management and program coordination. They are currently serving as a Project Manager for Products at The Diversity Movement since June 2022. Prior to that, Andy worked at North Carolina State University, where they held the positions of Assistant Director from August 2019 to May 2022 and Program Coordinator from July 2015 to July 2019. They also gained experience as an MSW Graduate Intern and Graduate Research Assistant at North Carolina State University from August 2014 to May 2015. Prior to their time at the university, Andy worked as an MSW Graduate Intern at the North Carolina Harm Reduction Coalition (NCHRC) from August 2013 to May 2014. Andy's career began in 2012 as an AmeriCorps member in the North Carolina Literacy Corps program, where they served for a year until July 2013.

They earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa, attending from 2007 to 2011.
They later pursued a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree at North Carolina State University, studying from 2013 to 2015.
Currently, they are pursuing a PhD at North Carolina State University in the field of Higher Education Access, Equity, and Justice, specifically in Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development. They started their PhD program in 2021 and have not yet completed it.
In addition to their academic degrees, Andy has obtained various certifications. They have completed the Product Marketing Foundations course from LinkedIn in 2018. In 2022, they obtained certifications in B2B Foundations: Content Marketing, Change Management Foundations, and Email and Newsletter Marketing Foundations from LinkedIn. They also attained the Product-led Certification from Pendo.io in the same year.
Furthermore, Andy has acquired two research-related certifications. They have completed the CITI Conflicts of Interest course through the CITI Program in 2022. They also obtained the Group 2: Social-Behavioral-Educational Researchers - HSR Basic certification from the same program in 2022.
Lastly, they have earned the Certified Diversity Executive (CDE®) designation from the Institute for Diversity Certification in 2023.
