Reid Beels

Reid Beels has a long and varied work experience. From 1995 to 2004, they worked as a Designer and Web Manager at Unicorn Gifts & Toys, and as a Student Publicity at Southern Oregon University. From 2007 to 2009 they were the Owner, Principal at Pixeldye, where they specialized in branding and interactive work. During this time they also worked as an Interaction Design and Development Contractor at AboutUs. From 2009 to 2012 they were Lead Developer & Interaction Designer at Byngo, where they worked on a platform for running games around real-world activities. From 2014 to 2015 they worked as a Software Developer III at Elemental Technologies, where they built an Angular user interface and underlying backend components, worked on a team creating a cluster management product, and profiled database queries and improved performance of a complex Rails application. Finally, from 2015 to the present, they have been CTO and Tech Lead at The Dyrt.

Reid Beels attended Ashland High School from 1999 to 2003. Reid then went on to Southern Oregon University from 2003 to 2005, where they studied Art, Computer Science, and Chemistry. In 2006, they attended Pratt Institute for Graphic Design. Finally, from 2005 to 2008, they attended Pacific NW College of Art for Communication Design and Photography.
