Mario Hernández Méndez

Mario Hernández Méndez has a diverse work experience in the fields of engineering and technology. Mario began their career as a Co-founder and Developer at Lamden, where they contributed to the development of a blockchain protocol and smart contracts. In 2018, they co-founded and served as Chief Technology Officer at Leios, a role in which they developed software.

In 2021, Mario worked as a Junior Engineer - Rocket Propulsion at the Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial. This role allowed him to gain experience in rocket propulsion.

Mario gained further experience in propulsion engineering at STAR UC3M, where they held multiple roles. Mario was a Propulsion Engineer, Advisor from October 2021 to April 2022. Additionally, they served as the President and Co-founder of STAR UC3M's college rocketry team from September 2018 to October 2021, managing a team of 35 students. Mario also held the position of Propulsion Engineer, Head of Department from September 2019 to September 2020.

Mario's experience in the aerospace industry continued at Rocket Lab, where they worked as a Junior Propulsion Development Engineer from May 2022 to November 2022.

Mario then moved on to work as a Turbomachinery Advisor at Delft Aerospace Rocket Engineering and as a Project Advisor at Launch Canada, both starting in November 2022.

Most recently, Mario has been working as a Pump Thermo-Mechanical Engineer at The Exploration Company since March 2023.

Mario Hernández Méndez graduated from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering. Prior to that, they completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in Science - Physics from 2015 to 2017 at the International Baccalaureate. Mario also attended the Real Instituto de Jovellanos during the same period to pursue an International Baccalaureate in Science - Physics. In October 2018, Mario obtained the IELTS Academic certification with a score of 8.0 (C2 Level) from IELTS Official.
