Evan Bloom serves as the Polar Governance Chair at the Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies and as a Senior Advisor at the Centre for the Ocean and the Arctic, both starting in April 2024. In addition, Evan holds the position of MPA Policy Advisor at the Antarctic and Southern Ocean Coalition since March 2024 and is a Senior Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars since January 2021. Membership at the Council on Foreign Relations has been maintained since 1997, and involvement with The Explorers Club as a Fellow has been ongoing since 2020. Evan's distinguished career at the U.S. Department of State lasted from April 1991 to December 2020, culminating in roles such as Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary and Attorney-Adviser. Prior legal expertise includes work as a Senior Associate at Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP and as a Foreign Associate at Nishimura & Sanada Law Firm. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Law degree from Columbia Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Affairs from Princeton University.
