Gideon Litherland

Clinical Assistant Professor at The Family Institute

Gideon Litherland serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor and Clinical Core Lecturer at The Family Institute at Northwestern University since September 2019, focusing on counseling within the Center for Applied Psychological and Family Studies. Previous roles include Clinical Supervisor at Veduta Consulting, Clinical Counselor and Supervisor at Counseling@Northwestern, and Outpatient Therapist and Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist at Turning Point Behavioral Health Care Center. Gideon has also been an Adjunct Professor and University Supervisor at Counseling@Northwestern and completed a postgraduate fellowship at Chicago Counseling Associates. Education includes a Ph.D. in Counseling/Counselor Education from Oregon State University, an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University, and a B.A. in Psychology and Peace and Social Justice Studies from Valparaiso University.
