Julian di Giovanni

Head Of Department, Climate Risk Studies, Research Group at The Federal Reserve Bank of New York

Julian di Giovanni currently serves as Head of Department for Climate Risk Studies and Assistant Vice President for the International Studies Function at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York since August 2019. In addition, Julian di Giovanni is an Adjunct Professor of Economics at Columbia University and held the position of ICREA Research Professor of Economics at ICREA - Institució Catalana de Recerca i Estudis Avançats from 2017 to 2021. Previous academic roles include Professor and Associate Professor of Economics at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Research Professor and Deputy Director of Research at the Barcelona School of Economics, and Research Associate at CREI - Centre de Recerca en Economia Internacional, all from 2013 to 2021. Julian di Giovanni’s earlier experience includes working as an Economist at the International Monetary Fund from 2004 to 2013 and as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Toronto in 2011-2012. Julian di Giovanni holds a PhD in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BA in Joint Honours in Economics and Finance, with a Minor in Mathematics from McGill University.
