Nikhil Ninan, PhD, has a diverse and extensive work experience. Starting from 2002, Nikhil worked as the Deputy Senior Warden at Campus Services, where they were responsible for leading a team of wardens and resolving various issues that arose within the halls of residence. From 2005 to 2006, they worked as a Research Assistant and Research Developer at the Electronics Research Group, where they coordinated activities and conducted self-study on IPv6 technology and Network Programming.

In 2007, Nikhil joined the University of Aberdeen as a Part-Time IT Officer, and later became a Research Fellow at the RCUK dot.rural Digital Economy Hub, where they worked on interdisciplinary projects related to satellite network deployment and broadband access.

Moving forward, Nikhil joined Arria NLG plc in 2013, first as a Data Scientist, analyzing client data to generate data-driven insights using Natural Language Generation. Nikhil then became a Senior Data Scientist, collaborating with SMEs and acting as the Data Science lead on client projects. Later, they served as the Global Head of Technical Business Development, working hands-on with data to design solutions and identify opportunities across various sectors. In 2018, Nikhil was promoted to the role of Head of Technology Applications, where they designed statistical models, researched and developed new analytics products, and managed insight and analytics teams.

In 2019, Nikhil transitioned to James Fisher and Sons Plc, where they served as a Data Science Product Manager and supported the digital capabilities of the James Fisher Group in key sales markets. In the same year, they also joined James Fisher Asset Information Services as the Head of Data Science and Technology, responsible for leading the data science function and architecting the use of technology across various product and service offerings.

Most recently, in 2022, Nikhil joined The Floow as the Head of Data Science, before being promoted to the role of Data Science Director in 2023.

Nikhil Ninan earned a PhD in Satellite Communication Engineering from the University of Aberdeen, where they studied from 2005 to 2012. Prior to their doctoral studies, they completed an MSc in Commerce; Electronics & Computer Engineering at the University of Aberdeen from 2003 to 2004. Nikhil also holds a BEng (Hons) degree in Electronics & Computer Engineering from the same university, which they obtained from 2001 to 2003. Additionally, they attended Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vaduthala from 1984 to 1999, although no degree or field of study information was provided for this institution.
