Dan Quinn currently serves as Bar Counsel at The Florida Bar since October 2019. Previously, Dan held the position of Assistant State Attorney in the Post-Conviction Unit at the State Attorney's Office for the Ninth Judicial Circuit from June 2016 to September 2019, where responsibilities included writing and litigating post-conviction responses. Prior to that, Dan was the Senior Assistant District Attorney and head of the Appellate Division in Cobb County from March 2013 to December 2015, and served as an Assistant District Attorney in DeKalb County's Appellate Division from February 2006 to February 2013. Dan began a legal career as a Staff Attorney at the Supreme Court of Georgia, focusing on death penalty cases from October 1997 to January 2006, after an initial role as an Associate Attorney in civil litigation at Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue. Dan's career also includes service as a First Lieutenant in the US Army from 1989 to 1993. Educational qualifications consist of a Doctor of Law (J.D.) with Honors from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science with a minor in History from Penn State University.
