Christy M. Brockhausen

Christy M. Brockhausen, Ph.D. has extensive work experience in the field of education. Christy M. began their career at The Windward School in 2000, where they served as a Research Associate and Classroom Teacher until 2013. During this time, they contributed to educational research and provided instruction in the classroom. In 2013, they joined Tuckahoe Union Free School District as a Special Education Consultant Teacher. Their role involved providing specialized instruction and support to students with special needs. In 2014, Christy M. Brockhausen joined The Gateway School as the Director of Teacher Training. In 2016, they assumed the role of Director of Lower School, and in 2022 they became the Assistant Head of School and Director of Lower School. Throughout their career, Christy M. Brockhausen has demonstrated a commitment to improving education and supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Christy M. Brockhausen, Ph.D. completed their Bachelor's degree in psychology from Manhattanville College from 1996 to 2000. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Professional Studies degree in Elementary/Special Education from the same college, completing it from 1999 to 2001. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Language, Literacy, and Learning from Fordham University between 2011 and 2018.
