Cortney Mabry has a diverse work experience. Cortney began their career at the Augustana University Writing Center as a Writing Tutor from August 2016 to May 2017, providing assistance to students with various writing needs. In 2016, they also served as the Marketing Chair for the Service and Learning Together (SALT) Augustana University Club, where they organized marketing strategies and coordinated volunteer recognition activities. In 2017, Cortney joined the Urban Servant Corps as a full-time volunteer, living in intentional community and embracing a counter-cultural, minimally-consumerist lifestyle. During this time, they also served as a Family Resource Advocate at The Gathering Place, providing trauma-informed care for families experiencing homelessness and poverty. Cortney later transitioned to the role of Volunteer Program Coordinator and then Volunteer Program Manager at The Gathering Place, where they collaborated with staff to manage volunteer needs and engage with community partners. Currently, Cortney holds the position of Associate Director of Grants and Partnerships at The Gathering Place, where they are responsible for supporting grant writing activities and managing donor relationships within the Colorado business community.
Cortney Mabry has a diverse education history. Cortney obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Communication from Regis University, which they pursued from 2022 to 2024. Prior to this, they completed their Bachelor's Degree at Augustana University (SD) between 2013 and 2017. During this time, they majored in Sociology and Spanish, with a minor in Media Studies.
Additionally, Cortney has acquired several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. Cortney completed courses such as Raiser's Edge Data Analysis, Raiser's Edge NXT Fundamentals, and Raiser's Edge Fundamentals from Blackbaud. These certifications were obtained in 2023, and they highlight their expertise in utilizing Raiser's Edge software.
Furthermore, Cortney Mabry also completed the Mental Health First Aid certification offered by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing in 2022. This certification demonstrates their ability to provide initial support and assistance to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Lastly, they received the Certified Volunteer Manager: Volunteer Management Training Series certification from Points of Light in 2019, indicating their proficiency in volunteer management.
