Malte Gerhold has a diverse range of work experience. Malte is currently the Director at THIS Labs since May 2023. Prior to that, they worked at The Health Foundation as the Director of Innovation and Improvement starting in May 2022. Malte also served as a Q Board Member at The Health Foundation from January 2022. Before that, they were a Fellow at The RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce) starting in November 2019. Malte was also a Fellow at Sciana | The Health Leaders Network starting in March 2019. In addition, they were part of Kaleidoscope Health and Care from November 2021 to May 2022.
Dr. Malte Gerhold also has experience as an Advisor, providing consultancy in health and care strategy and innovation, bringing new solutions to care pathways. Malte has expertise in NHS and social care policy and strategy, integrated care transformation and delivery, care quality and regulation, and organizational culture. Malte worked as an Advisor at Birdie from September 2021 to May 2022, and previously served as the Chief Integrated Care Officer at Birdie from March 2020 to August 2021.
Prior to that, Malte Gerhold worked at the Care Quality Commission, where they held the positions of Executive Director of Strategy & Intelligence from July 2016 to March 2020, and Director of Policy and Strategy from October 2013 to July 2016.
Malte also served as a Policy Fellow at CSaP - Centre for Science and Policy, University of Cambridge from October 2017 to November 2019.
At the Tony Blair Africa Governance Initiative, they were a Senior Advisor from March 2013 to October 2013, and previously served as the Country Head, Sierra Leone from August 2010 to March 2013.
Malte Gerhold's education history includes achieving a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Philosophy and Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 1996 to 1999. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Philosophy (BPhil) degree in Philosophy from the University of Oxford, studying from 1999 to 2001. Finally, they completed their academic journey with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Philosophy from the University of Oxford from 2001 to 2004.
