Catie Colvin Sampson

Catie Colvin Sampson is a skilled cataloger and collections processor specializing in photography and archival materials, currently employed at The Historic New Orleans Collection since January 2019. Responsibilities include the selection, appraisal, arrangement, description, preservation, and research of photographic print and negative collections, as well as moving image archives, utilizing the Minisis M3 database to catalog thousands of materials. Prior experience includes roles at Loyola University New Orleans as a Special Collections & Archives Project Assistant, where Catie constructed archival housings and monitored climate control, and at Louisiana State University as a Graduate Research Assistant during the pursuit of a Master of Library & Information Science degree. Additional notable positions involved assisting with a contemporary documentary photography exhibition at Frank Relle Photography and creating historic process portraits as a Historic Process Photographer. Catie holds a Master of Library & Information Science from Louisiana State University, where the focus was on Archival Science, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the same institution.
