Tariq Tashtoush, PHD, LSSBB, has a diverse range of work experience. Tariq is currently an Associate Professor at Texas A&M International University, where they teach various engineering courses and conducts research in fields such as Human Factors and Ergonomics, Industrial Process Design, Lean Six-Sigma implementations, and Robotics applications. Tariq also serves as a faculty adviser to several student organizations, including the International Petroleum Student Organization, Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, Society of Women Engineers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, DustyMOTOR Racing, and DustyTRON NASA Robotics.

In addition to their academic role, Tariq Tashtoush has held leadership positions in various professional organizations. Tariq served as the President of Chapter 296 and President-Elect of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, as well as the Vice President and Acting President of the SHPE Laredo Professional Chapter. Tariq has also been involved in the IEEE Corpus Christi Section as a West Officer.

Before their current position, Tariq Tashtoush gained industry experience as a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant at the Integrated Electronics Engineering Center (IEEC), where they worked on manufacturing process development and production quality assessment. Tariq was also a Doctoral Research Assistant at the same institution, focusing on electronics manufacturing and assembly process evaluation and development.

Prior to their work at the IEEC, Tariq Tashtoush worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Universal Instruments, Smart Modular Technologies, and Continental Automotive Systems. Their responsibilities in these roles included research on reliability assessment and testing for surface mount and electronic packaging manufacturing, as well as implementing lean manufacturing principles and failure analysis in production lines.

Tariq Tashtoush's early career included a Graduate Research Assistant position at Binghamton University, where they studied Micro Electro-Mechanical systems (MEMS) and characterized their dynamic behavior.

Tariq Tashtoush received their education at Binghamton University and Jordan University of Science and Technology. Tariq obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Mechatronics Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology in the years 2000 to 2005. Tariq then pursued further education at Binghamton University, earning a Master of Science degree in Systems and Industrial Engineering from 2006 to 2009. Tariq continued their education at Binghamton University and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Systems and Industrial Engineering from 2009 to 2013.

In addition to their academic achievements, Tariq Tashtoush has also obtained several certifications in Lean Six Sigma. Tariq obtained their Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from Dartmouth College and Binghamton University in February 2010. Tariq then obtained their Lean Six Sigma Brown Belt certification in July 2012 and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification in July 2013, both from the same institutions.
