Dr. Marlena Everett

Director Of Higher Education at The Hunt Institute

Dr. Marlena Everett has worked as the Director of Higher Education at The Hunt Institute since 2023. Prior to that, they were the Associate Dean of Students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2022 to 2023. From 2019 to 2022, they served as the Director of Performance and Partners, College and Career Readiness at the North Carolina Community College System. Before that, they worked as the Director of Counseling at Wayne Community College from 2014 to 2019, and as a Counselor/Coordinator of the Career and Transfer Resource Center at Johnston Community College from 2009 to 2014.

Dr. Marlena Everett holds a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree from North Carolina State University, as well as a Master of Arts (MA) degree from the same institution. Dr. Marlena also obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from East Carolina University. In addition, they have completed the Title IX Coordinator and Administrator Level One Certification and Training Course from The NCHERM Group, and the Campus Threat Management certification from the National Behavioral Intervention Team Association.
