Jonathan Fass has a diverse range of work experience in the field of Jewish education and community engagement. Jonathan has held various leadership roles in different organizations, including The Jewish Education Project, where they served as Senior Managing Director, leading the organization's digital education and engagement strategy. Jonathan was responsible for the development of virtual platforms that served thousands of Jewish educators, teens, and families. Prior to that, Jonathan worked at the United Jewish Federation of Greater Stamford, New Canaan, and Darien, where they held director positions in the Behrend Institute for Leadership and the Kuriansky Teen Tzedakah Corps. Jonathan also served as the Chief Operating Officer at the Elayne and James Schoke Jewish Family Service of Fairfield County, where they oversaw day-to-day operations and played a key role in fundraising, marketing, and community programming. Jonathan's experience also includes working at the JCCs of North America as the Vice President of the Merrin Center for Teen Engagement. Jonathan has also held positions at the National Library of Israel and The Jewish Agency for Israel, where they worked as a Grants Coordinator and Project Manager, respectively. Jonathan began their career at the EVELYN RUBENSTEIN JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER OF HOUSTON, where they served as the Assistant Executive Director and later as the Founding Director of the Center for Jewish Living and Learning. Jonathan was responsible for strategic leadership, professional development, and Israel engagement initiatives. Jonathan's work experience also includes managing the Jewish Life and Learning department at the Stamford JCC and working as a Jewish Education Specialist at the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Los Angeles. Jonathan Fass has a diverse education history that spans several years and institutions. In 1991, they enrolled at Indiana University Bloomington and completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Jewish/Judaic Studies in 1995. Following this, they pursued further studies at The Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) from 1998 to 2000, earning a Master of Arts (MA) in Jewish/Judaic Studies.
In 2006, Jonathan undertook a Post-Graduate Fellowship in Jewish Education/Israel Education at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Jonathan later continued their education at Bar-Ilan University from 2009 to 2011, where they completed another Post-Graduate Fellowship, this time focusing on Jewish Education/EdTech.
To enhance their expertise in the field of online and blended learning, Jonathan obtained a Certificate in Online and Blended Learning from Yeshiva University in 2012-2013.
Jonathan has also pursued additional certifications to augment their skills. Jonathan obtained the Google Certified Educator certification in July 2020. Additionally, they have completed various courses and obtained certifications such as the Google UX Design Certificate (October 2021), Instructional Design Foundations and Applications from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (March 2022), Learning Technologies Foundations and Applications from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (January 2022), AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials from Amazon Web Services (April 2022), Supporting Student Well-Being (July 2022), Creating Community in Online Classrooms (August 2022), and Learning Styles: Fact or Fiction? from the ISTE (October 2022).
