Ali McGinley is the Head of Grants at The Legal Education Foundation and a Trustee at The Bromley Trust. Formerly an Inspector at HM Inspectorate of Prisons, Chair of the Detention Monitoring Group, Director at AVID, and a Coordination Group Member at the Detention Forum, Ali has a strong background in advocating for human rights and reforming the immigration detention system in the UK. With experience in various organizations such as Amnesty International and Border Criminologies, Ali has demonstrated a commitment to social justice and community development. Holding degrees from the University of Bristol, University of East London, and University of Glasgow, Ali is well-educated in public policy, refugee studies, and history/theatre studies.
