Karen Copenhaver is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in both non-profit and for-profit sectors. Currently serving as an Advisor for various non-profits since January 2019, Karen has also held positions as Counsel for The Linux Foundation and other not-for-profit organizations since January 2018. In addition to a long-standing role as Counsel at The Linux Foundation since August 2007, Karen contributes as a member of the Advisory Board for Design that Matters and previously served on the Board of the Center for Women & Enterprise until January 2021. Karen has a rich background in private practice, having been a Partner at Choate Hall & Stewart LLP from 2007 to 2017, a Partner at Testa, Hurwitz & Thilbeault, LLP from 1994 to 2003, and a Partner at Brown & Bain LLP from 1991 to 1994. Educational qualifications include a JD from Penn State Dickinson Law and a BA in Economics and Fine Arts from Dickinson College.
