Laura Mitchell is an accomplished healthcare professional and community leader with extensive experience as a Nurse Practitioner, currently serving in that role since May 2018 at a healthcare organization. As a co-founder and CEO of The LO (Techstars Impact '23) since September 2021, Laura demonstrates a commitment to innovative solutions in the healthcare field. Laura founded and manages two significant Facebook communities for LGBTQ women: the Queer Women's Network - Atlanta, with over 2,000 members, and the Young Queer Women of Baltimore, with over 3,000 members, both aimed at connecting and empowering the community. Previous roles include Nurse Practitioner I at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and various faculty positions at prestigious institutions such as The Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The Johns Hopkins University, a Master of Science as a Nurse Practitioner from the University of California, San Francisco, and a Master’s of Public Policy from Georgia State University - Andrew Young School of Policy Studies.
