Marco Sterk

Marco Sterk has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Marco is the President and Founder of THE LONGBOW GROUP LLC, a company providing Unmanned Systems Consulting Services. In 2015, they founded Express Drone Parts, LLC, which specializes in distributing and custom-building commercial drones. From 2015 to 2018, they served as the Managing Director of 901Drones, LLC, where they were responsible for flight operations, safety, maintenance, and new technology.

Sterk has also worked in the aviation industry, holding various engineering and management roles. Marco worked at FedEx Express from 1997 to 2006, where they oversaw the development of procedures and managed resources for the introduction of the Airbus A380 Freighter. Prior to this, they worked at Airbus as a Customer Support Representative and Senior Engineer, contributing to the introduction and development of new cargo systems for multiple aircraft models. Marco also gained experience at Fokker as an Assistant Flight Test Engineer.

In recent years, Sterk has focused on autonomous technology and research. In 2018, they founded EDP Robotics, a research and development lab for autonomous mobile machines. Marco also serves as the Executive Director of LONGBOW FORT MONROE, providing consulting services for unmanned systems.

Additionally, Sterk is involved in the Autonomy Research Institute for Societal Enhancement (ARiSE), where they currently serve as the Chairman of the Board. ARISE is a non-profit organization promoting research, education, and workforce development in unmanned traffic management and artificial intelligence. Throughout their career, Sterk has demonstrated a passion for innovation and problem-solving in the aviation and autonomous technology sectors.

Marco Sterk attended Inholland University of Applied Sciences from 1983 to 1988, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
