Wynton Wong has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Wynton started their career as a Freelance Videographer/Podcast Producer in 2014. In this role, they worked independently and managed their own projects.
In 2015, Wong joined the It Gets Better Project as an Administrative Assistant. Wynton supported the Executive Director, Director of Communications, and Manager of Global Partnerships by handling calls and assisting with scheduling.
In 2016, Wong had multiple roles. Wynton worked as a Temporary Business Affairs Coordinator at Universal Television, providing support to the SVP and Director of Business Affairs. Additionally, they took on a role as a Production Coordinator for a freelance project, where they coordinated various production activities.
In 2017, Wong joined The Outline as an Executive Assistant Office Manager. Wynton assisted the CEO and COO with office management tasks, including vendor communication, budgeting, and expense reports. Wynton also supported the editorial teams with travel arrangements and scheduling.
Wong's career path led him to Transmitter Media in 2019, where they interned for a brief period, gaining valuable experience in the media industry.
The following year, Wong joined The Markup as an Operations and Production Associate. In this role, they supported the President and Editor-in-Chief in various tasks, including maintaining the office, communicating with freelancers and vendors, managing calendars, and booking travel and venues.
Wong's work experience also includes roles in event and theater work. In 2018, they worked as a Freelance Event/Theater Worker, where they organized schedules and assisted patrons with inquiries. Later that year, they served as the Programming Coordinator for the Asian-American International Film Festival, leading documentary and queer programming and managing a screening team.
Throughout their career, Wong also continued their freelance work as a Producer/Director, showcasing their creativity and ability to work independently.
Wynton Wong completed their education history with multiple degrees and certificates. In 2018, they obtained a Podcast Certificate from the Made in NY program, focusing on Podcasting. Prior to that, from 2011 to 2015, they attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. Wynton'smajor was in Biology and Communication Studies with a focus on Media Production. Wynton also pursued a minor in Writing for the Screen and Stage. Before attending university, they completed their high school education at Cary Academy from 2007 to 2011, where they received a Regular/General High School/Secondary Diploma.
