John MacKowiak

Vice President, Public Relations at The Martin Group

John Mackowiak has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. John began their career in 2007 as a Technical Producer at WBEN NewsRadio 930-AM, where they operated broadcast facilities and ensured the smooth running of news/talk programs. In 2008, they interned as part of the Investigative Unit at NBC News, assisting in the production of investigative reports. From 2009 to 2010, they served as the Communications Director for Chuck Cornell's County Executive campaign and later worked as a Staff Writer for Dunkirk Observer, covering various topics in government, business, education, and crime. John also held positions at Dunkirk Recreation Dept. as an Assistant Program Coordinator for Summer Better Than Others Day Camp and as a Substitute Teacher at Dunkirk City School District. Their involvement in political communications continued as the Communications Director for Kennedy for Senate in 2010 and Communications Director for New York State Senator Timothy M. Kennedy from 2011 to 2014. In 2014, they joined Dixon Schwabl Advertising as a Public Affairs Supervisor before transitioning to The Martin Group in 2016. At The Martin Group, they progressed from the role of Senior Public Relations Manager to Director of Public Relations & Public Affairs, and finally Vice President of Public Relations, their current position.

John Mackowiak earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Communication, Journalism, and English from the State University of New York at Fredonia. John attended the university from 2004 to 2009.
