Michael Barr has a diverse work experience in the field of software testing and development. Michael began their career as a Software Developer at The University of Hull, where they worked on creative solutions for the logistics and supply chain sector. Michael then moved on to work as an Apprentice at Digital Native UK, where they completed a part-time apprenticeship in software testing. Michael also served as an E-Mentor at the University of Hull, providing guidance and support to students in various areas of their personal and professional development. Michael later joined Arco: Experts In Safety as a Software Tester, where they worked on a digital transformation project and collaborated with small teams using Agile methodologies. Michael then worked as an Automation Test Engineer at Optix Software Ltd, where they contributed to the automation testing process. Currently, they are employed as a Test Automation Engineer at the Medical Protection Society.
Michael Barr completed their education at the University of Hull from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science with Games Development. Michael obtained additional certifications including Agile Tester (CTFL-AT) from the International Software Testing Qualifications Board in July 2021, a Software Tester Apprenticeship from Digital Native in December 2020, and Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) from the International Software Testing Qualifications Board in January 2020.
