Heather Pekios

Heather Pekios is a Senior Manager of Research & Evaluation at The Mission Continues, a national nonprofit organization that mobilizes veterans to lead community service projects. Heather has been with The Mission Continues since March 2015.

Before joining The Mission Continues, Heather worked as a Career Opportunity Consultant at Boone Center, Inc./BCI Packaging. In this role, they created an ecosystem for job candidates with disabilities to obtain and retain permanent employment. Heather also instituted interventions upon assessing strengths and gaps of each candidate, including on-site job coaching.

Prior to their work at Boone Center, Inc./BCI Packaging, Heather was employed at John's Pharmacy where they focused on customer retention by creating and strengthening relationships with new and long-term customers. Heather became passionate about equitable access to healthcare after hearing customers' stories about how they or loved ones were affected by rising medical costs and fees, opioid addiction, aging, and barriers due to disabilities.

Heather Pekios has a Master of Social Work from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, a BA in Heather'story from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, and an Associate of Arts and Sciences from Saint Louis Community College.
