Simon Mellin

Simon Mellin is the founder and CEO of The Modern Milkman, a company that delivers milk directly to customers' doorsteps in reusable glass bottles. Simon started their career in sustainable food production at Grass Roots Wholesale Foods Ltd, where they served as managing director from 2013 to 2018. Under Simon's leadership, Grass Roots Wholesale Foods rapidly expanded by partnering with large online retailers and supplying wholesale foods to leading gastropubs and restaurants.

A strong believer in traceability and provenance, Simon worked with local farmers in Lancashire and the surrounding areas to provide 100% British meat and poultry from animals that were raised sustainably. The team at Grass Roots was committed to traditional farming methods and encouraging sustainable agriculture. In 2018, Simon left Grass Roots to start The Modern Milkman, which has quickly become a leading force in the sustainable food delivery industry.
