Waqas Mahmood Dogar has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Waqas Mahmood began their career in 2014 as a Business Analyst at Design Commune and later worked as a Business Development Officer at Faysal Bank Limited. In 2016, Waqas joined The Nation as a Reporter & News Editor Web Desk, where they also served as an International Strategy Analyst and Political Commentator. Waqas Mahmood then contributed as a Writer at Daily Times Pakistan and a Contributing Author at Naya Daur from 2018 to 2019. In the same year, they took on the role of Assistant Project Manager at a construction company. Currently, Waqas is working as a Researcher at the Centre for Aerospace & Security Studies (CASS) starting in 2023.

Waqas Mahmood Dogar has a diverse education history spanning various institutions and fields of study. Waqas Mahmood began their academic journey at P.D.S. International School, where they obtained a Primary Certificate Education in 2001. Waqas Mahmood then attended Faisalabad Grammar School from 2005 to 2007, earning their GCE O LEVELS with a focus on Accounting and Business/Management.

In 2007, Waqas pursued their A Levels at Beaconhouse School System, specializing in Business/Managerial Economics. Waqas Mahmood completed this program in 2009.

Waqas then moved on to tertiary education, enrolling at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2009 to 2013. During this period, they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Business, with a focus on Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services.

Continuing their academic pursuits, Waqas earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science and Government from the University of the Punjab, which they attended from 2017 to 2019. Waqas Mahmood also pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management at the Lahore School of Economics from 2015 to 2017.

Waqas further advanced their studies by enrolling in two master's programs simultaneously. Waqas Mahmood attended the University of Management and Technology (UMT) from 2020 to 2022, obtaining a Master of Science (MS) degree in Security & Strategic Studies, specializing in International Relations and National Security Studies. Additionally, from 2020 to 2022, they pursued a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree at the Forman Christian College (A Chartered University), focusing on Political Science and Government.

Looking ahead, Waqas is set to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Strategic Studies from Air University, commencing in 2022 and expected to complete by 2024.

Furthermore, Waqas has shown a commitment to continuous learning by obtaining several additional certifications. These include completing courses such as "Restoring Deterrence: Coercion and Crises in South Asia" from The Stimson Center in 2022, and various data-related courses from Coursera and JS Academy - India in 2021.
