Bill Mitchell has extensive experience in journalism and education, with a notable role as Publisher at the National Catholic Reporter since May 2019. Bill also serves as the Climate Editor, developing the EarthBeat content vertical focused on the climate crisis, faith, and action. Throughout a career that spans over two decades, Mitchell has held various positions, including affiliate faculty at The Poynter Institute, where Bill contributed as an instructor and writer. Additional roles include co-creating a blog, co-founding Detroit143.org, and serving as a consultant for Images & Voices of Hope. Educational accomplishments include a B.A. in theology from the University of Notre Dame and a certificate from the Shorenstein Center at Harvard.
