Shaimaa Alhadidy

Shaimaa Alhadidy is a skilled journalist and writer with extensive experience in various media roles. Currently serving as Membership & New Members Secretary for the National Union of Journalists since January 2024, Shaimaa also contributes as a writer for New Lines Magazine and Middle East Eye, focusing on personal essays and the political landscape in Egypt. As a former journalist for Al Jazeera Media Network, Shaimaa gained experience as a London correspondent and freelance writer, alongside roles at ArabicPost, SasaPost, and HuffPost. Shaimaa’s research work at The Coalition For Women In Journalism highlights violations against women journalists in the MENA region. Education includes a current MA in International Relations from the University of Westminster and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism.
