Amy Freitag

Amy Freitag currently serves as President of The New York Community Trust, a position held since July 2022. Prior to this role, Freitag was Executive Director of the JM Kaplan Fund from February 2014 to June 2022 and held similar leadership positions as Executive Director at the New York Restoration Project and the Historic House Trust of New York City. Freitag's earlier career includes serving as Program Manager for the World Monuments Fund and as Deputy Commissioner for New York City Parks, where oversight included design, engineering, construction, and historic preservation. Education includes a Master of Landscape Architecture and a Master of Science in Historic Preservation from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as an AB degree in Theatre and American Studies from Smith College.
